Lake Mburo National Park is over 260 sq km as being the smallest savannah park in Uganda, and it has got a mosaic habitat, the rocky Kopjes, dry hillside, the open wooded savannah forest, the bush thickets, lakes as well as the swamps that are home to a variety of animals and plants. This national park also lies within a rain shadow that is between Lake Victoria Africa’s largest freshwater body and the great Rwenzori Mountains also known as the mountains of the moon and this gives a very good stop to the attractions of the southwest such as Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Lake Bunyonyi, and Queen Elizabeth National park.
Lake Mburo national park offers visitors a lot of activities including boat safari on Lake Mburo, game drives, walking safaris, Horse riding safaris, community visits, birding, and it’s one of the best places to do a walking safari in Uganda.
The park is home to a variety of wildlife like eland, giraffe, Leopard, topi, waterbucks, impala, warthogs, and birdlife like the barbets, herons, cranes and the shoebill has been seen in the wetlands in the park.
The 3 days Lake Mburo National Park safari will start from Entebbe or Kampala and you will enjoy a variety of activities as this is the closest national park to the main capital Kampala.
Day 1: Pick up from Hotel and drive to Lake Mburo National Park
Our guide will pick you up from your lodge in Entebbe or Kampala in the morning and you will drive to Lake Mburo national park with a stop at the Equator for coffee and pictures at the Equator and later proceed to the park and arrive for late Lunch and relaxation and later take an evening game drive in the park in search of wildlife and birds.
Day 2: morning game drive and Evening game drive
After an early morning game drive, you will take 3-4 hours game drive and return to the lodge for relaxation and later you head out for a sundowner game drive in the park.
Day 3: Morning walking safari and depart for Kampala or Entebbe
You will transfer to the park for a walking safari with a ranger guide armed with the famous AK47 and this walk will be approaching wildlife on foot and later you will return to the lodge for refreshment and later transfer back to Kampala.
